I have done everything EXACTLY as it states on the Mac website and videos on Youtube My Mac Mini came with El Capitan when I first bought it but I am now being forced to install HighSierra from Recovery Mode that takes 6 hours but it will not install, The Install freezes at 2 min to complete and leaving it for an extra 5 hours does not help, I have tried to Install the OSX more than 10 times over the last few days to no avail. I have erased my Hard drive from Recovery Mode and gone to reinstall the OSX I have been trying to factory reset my old Mac Mini 2012 to no avail. Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continuebutton.I have been using Mac for around 10 years so I am no stranger to the frustrating tech problems that the Macs have but this one takes the biscuit.Quit Disk Utility and return to the Utility Menu.

  • Click on the Apply button, then wait for the Done button to activate and click on it.
  • Set the Format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.).
  • Click on the Erase icon in Disk Utility's toolbar.
  • When Disk Utility loads select the drive (out-dented entry) from the Device list.
  • Select Disk Utility from the Utility Menu and click on Continue button.
